The point is that Muslims regard hadith as if it were law. They hold hadith as high as they hold the Quran. Most Muslims don't know or don't care that Hadith was written hundreds of years after Mohammad died, and it was written by man. They do their God a disservice by following the hadith as if it was Gods word. Dogs are mentioned in a good light in the Quran and it's about time Muslims understand that Dogs are creatures of God, and as such should not be hated. Dog are such good companions to man it's not funny.A Dog indeed is mans best friend, and Muslims don't know what they are missing!

I really enjoyed your article and I thoroughly agree with you on so many points. As a dog lover I am disappointed that more Muslims cannot get past all of this.

And although I agree with some of the points made at the site www.answering-islam.org - I do not agree with the site itself - it's really an attack on Muhammad and it does not need to be.

In my opinion it may not have been the best source of information, unless you were after a full blown attack?

Whilst I am working on my path to enlightenment and my spiritual path I have to say I am still very much a strong believer of 'When in Rome do as the Romans do'.......Having lived and worked abroad for many years they have the right balance and you as the visitor are respected but have to fall in with their customs and beliefs. I also originate from the Midlands and each time I return am astounded at how it has changed to accommodate the Asian population. Unfortunately here is another classic example of diversity not being supported equally in both directions - we are very much going out of our way to respect others belief yet they do not reciprocate. Thank you Elsabe for another wonderful insight into our times x
